The Four Tokens Of Wisdom
(Excerpted from Futuwat namah by Khwaja

by M. Nur Abdussalam)
If asked: What are the seven cautions? Say:
1.
Not to express dissatisfaction with the food even it is badly
cooked.
2.
Not to eat until you have enquired about the source of the food.
3.
Not to eat alone, for the Prophet said: [The worst of men is he
who eats by himself.]
4.
To share the contents of one’s bowl with the others, for grace
lies in company.
5.
Not to eat the food of pride; that is, the food prepared by
someone for fame and renown.
6.
To abstain from the food of mourning, for perhaps and orphan or
an absent heir has the right to it.
7.
To content oneself with one kind of food (among those offered).
