The Four Obligations (Fard) Imposed By The Law Of God

If asked: What are the four obligations (fard) imposed by the Law of God? Say:

1.      The food must be lawful, for God says: Eat of wholesome things (2:57, 172; 7:160; 20:81). The Prophet said: Seeking the lawful is the duty of duties.
2.      The provider of the sustenance must be a believer in God.
3.      He must be thanked.
4.      The food must be clean and free of filth and religious impurities.
